Liege Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

Created in 1960, the OPRL or Liege Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is the only professional symphonic formation in French-speaking Belgium. The OPRL plays concerts in Liege in the prestigious setting of the Philharmonic Hall (inaugurated in 1887), throughout the country (in Antwerp, Brussels, Charleroi, Hasselt, Namur, Saint-Hubert, Saint-Vith, Verviers, Virton, etc.) and at major European venues (in Amsterdam, Paris, Vienna, Spain, Swtitzerland, France, etc.).

For more than 15 years, the OPRL has chosen as its mission to offer the best music to all, through original formulas such as the Music Factory, Family Saturdays, or Chef’s Concerts. The orchestra’s ambition is to continue to increase the outreach of music to new audiences to be won over, as well as going further in its capacity as a cultural ambassador for Belgium. The OPRL also endeavours to fulfil a civic role throughout the year, reaching out to populations that are more distant from classical culture.
